Potting Soil
foxfarm
“FoxFarm was born and raised in Humboldt County in the early ’80s out of a desire to offer a different kind of garden soil that was not sterilized in any way. At that time, most soils were designed to be free of soil microbes, but I knew they were the key to giving life to plants — from the ground up.”
Coconut Coir
Coconut coir is an economic and quality alternative to peat. Coir is a natural product, it comes from the coconut fruit and is a renewable resource. Coir is light, airy, retains moisture, has an ideal pH, and is free from weeds and root pathogens. It is also an ideal growing medium by itself.
Organic mechanics
“At the heart of all we do, we share a philosophy that embraces environmental sustainability, first and foremost. We are actively pursuing the dream of producing the highest quality, most earth-friendly organic potting soils and soil amendments available. This is why we choose to use compost instead of peat, bio-diesel to power our equipment, and recycled products and local ingredients whenever available. We are committed to operate our business in a responsible and earth-friendly way.”
Sphagnum Moss
Due to its unique qualities of retaining 20 times its weight in water and its anti-bacterial sterility, long fibered sphagnum moss has become an indispensable gardening tool in propagation, hanging baskets and orchid cultivation.
